A week with Big Bass 3in1

I didn't expect much from Big Bass 3in1 going in. The name is plain and the store screenshots don't sell it well. But after a week of opening it during coffee breaks, I get the appeal.

The app splits into three modes. Casting is about timing your tap, matching is a simple tile-clear, and sorting has you organizing your catch. None of them are complex, and that's the point. You dip in for two minutes and put it down.

Everything runs off one thumb, which matters when you're holding a mug in the other hand. The water animation is soothing and the sound is soft enough that I sometimes leave it on with the volume low.

If you want a challenge, look elsewhere. But as a small calm thing to fill dead time, Big Bass 3in1 does its job. My tip: start with the casting mode, it clicks fastest.

It won't be anyone's game of the year, and it doesn't try to be. Sometimes a phone game just needs to be pleasant, and this one manages that.
