Emberfall Legends

Emberfall Legends caught us off guard. On the surface it's a standard turn-based party RPG, but the writing carries it. The characters bicker, grow, and occasionally surprise you, and the dialogue never overstays its welcome.

Combat is tactical without being fiddly. You pick abilities from a clean menu, positioning matters a little, and status effects can turn a losing fight around. Grinding is optional, which we appreciated on mobile where nobody wants to farm for an hour.

The pixel art is lovely and runs smoothly even on older phones. If you want a proper RPG you can chip away at over a couple of weeks, this is an easy recommendation.
